1. Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas

I read this book about a year into our marriage and I found myself wishing I would have read it much earlier! I read a lot of books about marriage before we got married, but this one by far surpassed them all. So much so that it’s on my list to read again this year. Gary Thomas dives deep into the spiritual side of marriage in his book in profound ways that I’d never even considered, and I felt like I learned more from this book from all the others I’d read combined. I highly recommend checking it out, even if it’s the only book on marriage you pick up!

2. The 5 Love Languages

We learned about the five love languages in premarital counseling and found it very helpful to know and understand the ways that each other gives and receives love the most. (There’s also a book about this, but I haven’t read it.) This is a tool that a lot of couples find helpful and it’s definitely worth checking out!

3. The Enneagram

4. The Marriage Journal by Jeremy and Audrey Roloff

5. Family Plan Calendar by Family Teams
